I have a post card dated 1919 for a $.05 refund on a
purchase from Sears given to a man in South Carolina. Could you
please tell me anything about this item?
Occasionally, customers would overpay for the cost of
shipping their merchandise. Other times, a product would not
meet Sears "satisfaction guaranteed" promise. The
customer might replace the item with a new one, and Sears would
reimburse the difference between the two items. These refund
cards or vouchers are relatively common and often make
interesting family mementos.
