Q. I found a two-gallon, wood-looking (I think it is actually plastic) wine cask from Sears. Stored along with it were several mysterious accessories, including a funnel, a large test-tube-like item, and several small, plastic vials. Could you please explain this to me, as I cannot figure out what it is for?
A. You may have a winemaking kit. In the spring 1973 Chicago edition catalog, on page 1002, Sears sold a winemaking kit that included precisely the items you described.
