Q. I remember a having a blender with a special feature called "triple-mix" or "turbo-mix." Do you know what was the proper terminology and when it appeared in the catalogs?
A. We found a Kenmore mixer with "turbo-mix" in the fall 1953 Chicago edition catalog, on page 876. "Turbo-mix" was a spiral-center mixer that created a whirlpool to suck food into the blades for faster blending. This feature was mentioned in catalog descriptions of blenders until at least 1960.
